Can I Trust My Birthday for Numerology?
You've probably heard it: 365 days, divided equally, should mean 13 months, not 12. So, how can we trust our birthday for accurate numerological calculations? This question comes up a lot. I'm Karina, a numerologist with over 20 years of exploring these very questions, and I'm glad you're here to learn about yourself through my unique modality, Soul Spheres™.

Let's tackle this. The logic of a 13-month calendar, with each month having 28 days, makes perfect sense on the surface. And if you feel our current calendar is a bit wonky, you're not wrong. Fun fact: I studied linguistics (Spanish and French, with a side of Latin – not always fun, but insightful!). The month names themselves are a historical jumble. March is for Mars. September, October, November, December – these names point to them being the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th months. Originally, the Roman calendar only had 10. Winter didn't even have named months.
Then came Julius Caesar, naming a month for himself (July), and his successor Augustus did the same (August, duh). Later, more changes led to the Gregorian calendar we use today, adopted in the 1500s under Pope Gregory XIII. This is now our international standard. So yes, it can feel arbitrary.
Consider this: Ethiopia still uses a 13-month Coptic calendar. Astrology even flirted with a 13th sign (Ophiuchus-not that this is a valid sign) and a 14th (Cetus-this isn’t, either). The point? Our 12-month system isn't the only one. The Mayan calendar had 18 months. The Baha'i has 19. The oldest calendar, the
Proto-Bulgarian, fascinatingly, also had 12 months. So, 10, 12, 13, 18, 19 months... which one holds the ultimate truth?
Numerology is so much more than your birthday or your life path number. It's infinitely deeper than that.
Personally, I resonate most with the Babylonian calendar, a lunar system. My intuition and emotions are deeply connected to the moon's phases – maybe it's my Pisces moon, maybe it's the work I do. This calendar feels most accurate for me. While the 13-month year makes logical sense, I encourage you: look within. What resonates for you? Don't just blindly accept a concept because it's logical if it doesn't touch you on a spiritual, intimate, intuitive level. If it’s just replacing one system for the other, then it doesn’t make sense to adopt it. The more you tune into your own emotional and spiritual shifts with the seasons, weeks, or lunar phases, the more you understand that we don't have to be rigidly dependent on one calendar for these calculations.
This brings me to my stance, and it's a big part of why I developed Soul Spheres™. I don't take numbers and their energies at face value. When I do a calculation, I always tell my clients: these energies begin to stir before your actual birthday. They don't just switch on like a light when you turn 22 or 30. Universe energies are fluid. They shift, migrate, and show us the side of their frequency we're ready to accept and evolve with. Nothing is set in stone.
